KRONAUER TAKES BIG RIGS WIN AT RACEWAY SEVEN  “Bad Intentions”, the ONLY Kenworth in the field, roared to the win on Saturday night before a enthusiastic crowd at the special Big Rigs Invitational held at the famed Raceway Seven in Conneaut, Ohio. The truck is owned and was driven by Bud Kronauer from nearby Madison, Ohio. Kronauer is the third owner of the KT-600 Cummins powered machine that was originally built by the famed Mike Metzger Team in Silver Lake, Indiana and ran under the name “Super Trooper”.

Second went to “Temperamental” from the Chris Jeffries Team of Wyoming, New York. This CAT powered Pete has struggled with the NTPA Grand National Series in 2024 and the invitational allowed the team to hopefully get their program in order for the very colorful machine. Mr. Jeffries did the driving on this beautiful night in northern Ohio.

And third was the Jeff Lautanen team from Jefferson, Ohio. Matt Gabriel did the driving for the CAT powered Big Rig taking over for the recently hospitalized owner. The truck has been dealing with ‘gremlins’ since mid-season a year ago Peterbilt but was quite happy with his pull at Raceway Seven. “Moody Blue” is the former Big Rigs Champion during the 2022 Pandemic year.

The ultra sleek “Grape Ape” took the final slot in the special class with Bob Lautenan from Ashtabula County on the wheel. This Pete with CAT power is currently second in the 2024 Big Rigs point series. The next hook for the Big Rigs Series will be on Saturday, July 27 (7:00pm) at the Cattaraugus County Fair in Little Valley, New York in the southern tier. This will be the third USA-EAST Big Rigs point hook of 2024. Zig Zeglen from Morgantown, West Virginia is the current point leader with his all-new “Death Row” Peterbilt powered by a CAT engine.
