The Pro Stock Diesel division is the top of the line class for diesel four-wheel drive truck pulling that is being offered by Full Pull Productions in 2010 through the USA-EAST sanctioning body. The huge plumes of dark gray exhaust flying from these ultra-powerful machines give them an appearance that is very much akin to the pro stock and super stock diesel tractors and allows the trucks to demonstrate their awesome power on the track. This class had been called the Pro Street Diesel class until 2009 when the name was changed to Pro Stock Diesel. At the time of the change of names, the rules for the class were altered in order to eliminate the requirement that each truck had to be licensed for the highway. While the class is currently dominated by the 24-valve Cummins-powered Dodge brand, there will be a number of very strong Ford Power Stroke and GM Duramax powered trucks that can and will compete regularly in this division. Trucks will cross the scales at 8000lbs and are required to use a factory engine block but certain twin turbo charger set-ups are permitted in the class. The main delineator is the fact that all trucks must run DOT tires. John Lorenz from Dover, Ohio was the repeat champion in this class having won the point race in 2009 and 2010. Lorenz’ “Grey Wolfe” Dodge is powered by the very competitive Cummins plant. The “Grey Wolfe” has been the winner of the USA-EAST ‘Finals’ at Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania in two of the past three seasons. Lorenz is best known for his many years of involvement with the “Shot Gun Red” Pro Stock Tractor Team owned by John Wilkins LTD. Paul Wolfe is also a member of that team that now campaigns both the tractor and the “Grey Wolfe” Pro Street Diesel 4x4. The “Grey Wolfe” team relies on genuine Cen.Pe.Co. lubricants and fuel additives to keep the truck running strong. South Bend Clutch of the state of Indiana has been a constant contingency sponsor of the Pro Street Diesel class. Each class winner, runner-up and third place finishing truck is eligible for additional purse payments if they are using a genuine South Bend Clutch. And in 2010 Dave and Loretta Mitchell’s Enterprise Engine Performance of Thornville, Ohio is a contingency sponsor for the Pro Stock Diesel 4x4 Truck division. The trucks in the Pro Stock Diesel division will be permitted to compete with the "Run What Ya Brung" gasoline trucks again in 2010. This should also give the fans some new and very interesting competition to look forward to in the coming summer.
