SIX TRUCKS MAKE ‘RWYB’ PULL-OFF AT  OHIO’S BUNKER HILL ‘SHOOT OUT’

The first-ever USA-EAST sanctioned pulling class at the Bunker Hill “Shoot-Out” in Beloit, Ohio was a huge success as a total of seventeen of the highly modified 4x4 trucks from the Run What Ya Brung Series participated with six trucks ending up in the pull-off.  And when the dust had settled after the first round of pulling against Rick Matus’ “Mighty Mac” weight transfer there were five trucks poised for the pull-off.

It was the current point leader in the Run What Ya Brung Series who emerged as the winner on this night in eastern Ohio, as Crystal Zedreck from Chicora, Pennsylvania pushed here “Little Irish II” into the winners circle.  This was the third win of 2010 for the big block Chevrolet that had been the USA-EAST Champion two years previously while driven by Eddie Zedreck, now the crew chief for his wife’s pulling endeavors.  After finishing behind the awesome run by Doug Martin and the “HuffmanAuto.Com” truck a week ago in Ohio Zedreck with primed for another top performance at Bunker Hill.

Second place went to Curt Haisley all the way in from Fairmount, Indiana with his awesome Dodge named “ Off Constanly”.  Haisley, who is one of the top diesel pullers in the nation was in town for Saturday’s “Shoot-out” session where the NADM Super Stock Diesels will participate and decided to try out the RWYB class.  However Haisley was forced to remove his dual rear wheels and run with singles for this class as the USA-EAST class does not permit modified diesel to run their duals.

Third place was claimed by local favorite Wayne Greier with “Resurrected Ram” another Cummins-powered Dodge from nearby Canfield, Ohio.  Greier had been the #2 truck in the USA-EAST series from a year ago but a complete re-build of the truck, complete with an awesome new paint scheme, had kept him from competition in the early part of the 2010 season.

With his best finish of this season young Sam Tatalovic from Guys Mills, Pennsylvania pushed his “White Knight” Chevrolet into the number four position at Bunker Hill.  Tatalovic’s big block GM powerplant performed flawlessly as the Crawford County puller improved his position in the 2010 point race.

Finshing fifth was the 2009 Run What Ya Brung champion Todd Berkey with his beautifully prepared “1950 Chevrolet”.  Berkey has had problems early in the 2010 campaign and is rounding back into the form that made him the dominant player a year ago.

The winner earlier in the week in Butler, Pennsylvania was Doug Martin from Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, but the “HoffmanAuto.Com” truck could only muster sixth at Bunker Hill as it was apparent that the big block Chevrolet had experienced some mechanical issues on the first run.  It was reported that the ignition failed on the truck that is currently #2 in USA-EAST points.
