2009 USA-EAST RULES MEETINGS COMPLETED 

The USA-EAST Tech and Safety Committee has completed most of their work over the past two weeks and the 2009 rule book is in the final completion process.  The committee is headed up by R.J. Feicht, Director of Operations for Full Pull Productions.  Also serving as representatives on the team this year were senior officials Mike Gum and Jack Snyder as well as Jamie Clawson and Dan Perry.  Individual meetings were held with the Pro Street Diesel 4x4 division and with the Street Licensed Semi Truck class.  The basic synopsis of the changes that are to be included with the 2009 USA-EAST Rules are explained herein….

 

LIMITED PRO/SUPER FARM TRACTORS

  • Map ring allowed with maximum slot width dimension of .180”.
  • All Air flow must go through the turbo intake and map ring, no other air flow will be permitted IE. Drilled holes around the turbo intake.

MODIFIED FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE “Run What Ya Brung” Series

  • The rules for this division were set for two years (2008 and 2009) and there are no changes to the RWYB rules for this coming season.

PRO STOCK DIESEL 4x4 TRUCKS

 A number of changes to this class have been made:

      1.  The class will be called PRO STOCK DIESEL beginning in 2009

      2.  A solid rear suspension will be permitted

      3.  Trucks will no longer have to have a ‘complete interior’.

      4.  Tires must be street legal tires with a DOT number on the sidewall. Cut tires are NOT permitted.

           Dual rear wheels may be used in competition. Tires can not be wider than 102” inches measured

           from the outside sidewall to the opposite outside side wall and must be a minimum of 50” inches

           measured from inside side wall to opposite inside side wall.

STREET LICENSED SEMI TRUCKS and the “PENNSYLVANIA POSSE”

 A number of changes to this class came out of the class meeting:

     1.  Fifth Wheel Position- Kingpin/Fifth wheel plate position No further forward then the center of

          the front axle and no further back then center between the two axles

     2.  The hitch must be adjustable so that the height from the ground to the point of hook is

          between 18” and 22” + or – 1”.

     3.  There must be 66” from the center of the tandems to the first obstruction forward such as

          the back of the truck cab, toolbox, wet line box, etc. 

     4.   Tandem axle spacing must be between 60” and 52”

 

ALL AMERICAN “SMOKER SERIES”

There are NO changes to the rules for this class for 2009.  The committee chose not to reinstate the rule permitting Alky Tractors to collect points.

 ‘HOT FARM’ TRACTORS

This class also runs with two of the ‘local’ clubs in western Pennsylvania and the rules were set by the clubs for two years to include 2009.  Should any changes be forthcoming from the club meetings they will be incorporated into the USA-EAST rules for this class in 2009.

 

STREET LICENSED DIESEL 4x4 TRUCKS

Weights will have to be in the bed only.  No weights will be permitted in the cab or behind the seats.  Tech officials reserve the right to require hub shields or drive shaft loops on an individual case-by-case basis.  After a truck moves up to Pro Stock Diesel for the second time, the truck will not be permitted to come back to the Street Licensed Diesel class in 2009.  

STREET LICENSED GAS 4X4 TRUCKS

Weights will have to be in the bed only.  No weights will be permitted in the cab or behind the seats.   Tech officials reserve the right to require hub shields or drive shaft loops on an individual case-by-case basis.

 

BIG RIGS PULLING SERIES

There are NO changes to the rules for the BIG RIGS Modified Semi Trucks for 2009.  There is a possibility that the single turbo ‘Super Stock Semi’ class may be re-introduced for 2009.

 

Memberships with USA-EAST are now available.  The forms can be found on line at www.USA-EAST.com and pullers must complete both the membership application and the ‘certification of clutch’ forms are required.  The discount period for membership renewals – just Fifty Bucks – ends on November 15th.
